That’s enough, right? I can’t decide! Which one to use…. in the words of Winnie the Pooh, “think, think, think.”

I know I’m partial, but those are two great bums if you ask me!!!

So, right after I posted about how good Allie was…lol…she had a huge cry…was soooooo tired she didn’t nurse very well, and was so made she wasn’t eating. And I was trying to shoosh her when Sara walks in after only an hour of sleeping and her pants are SOAKED in pee. Classic. Just thought that was funny and ironic. Allie did end up going back to sleep after a bit of coercing. All in all, a good day.

I think the only reason I’m going to publish the fact that it’s 1:30PM and I look no different than I did at 6AM or 5AM or 4AM for that matter, is I hope to look back one day and not believe that I had absolutely no time to take a shower, or get myself ready (whatever that may mean) until this time in the afternoon and that I willingly chose to sit at a computer to rest for a minute instead of taking that said shower. Sad but true.

We’ve had a good week so far. I haven’t strangled my kids and it’s actually really nice weather. Sara and I hit rock bottom last week. It’s been really rough adjusting to having a baby sister. On one hand she tries to act like baby Allie to get attention, and on the other she wants to hit baby Allie for being a baby. Well, rather, I think she’d rather hit her for just living. I don’t really think she cares that Allie is a baby. One thing helped…I found a good time out area…I like to call it …dun dun dun… the dungeon. It’s our small hallway of a laundry room that exits outside/muck-room. To make matters even worse (or better, depending if it’s me or Sara saying this), only one of the two ceiling lights work, so it’s rather dark. It has been working perfectly. I don’t wish to scare her, but it doesn’t hurt that it is the MOST uninviting part of the house. So when she acts out, this has been working.
For Sara though, one-on-one time is very important, as well as getting out of the house and doing something. Both make for a happy toddler. Makes so much sense when I spell it out like that, but I really do get so confused sometimes when I’m like, “why can’t you play by yourself???!” as she screams and goes for Allie when I’m just trying to get in the shower.
As for Allie, she is a dream child so far. I know, she’s only 3 months. What can she be doing? Well, she could be crying a lot and needing to be held every moment. And for the most part, she is just happy to be watching her sister or mommy (or “dabby”) and content to be along for the ride. She is getting more vocal about her dislikes…like an unfamiliar face, being left alone in the room, or being put to bed (out of mommy’s arms for the night). The best part is how social she is though. She will smile at anyone/everyone that will just take the time to stop and say hi to her. She loves it, loves it, loves it. And she’ll sit there and talk to you and smile. Sara was barely doing this at 4 months, and Allie has been doing this easily for a month already. With Lj’s long hours at work and school, and Sara and I butting heads so much lately, she is my saving grace.

My mom would say this growing up, and now I know what she meant when she said, “Families are the best.” They’re a lot of work, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

I decided to make a first and do Sara’s birthday pictures, actually close to her birthday. So, this year, I’m a little early. She turns 3 on November 11th. This is part 1. More to come. Which is your favorite?

Lj has been looking for a new job and in while waiting for the new one to start, we’ve been doing as many things as we can…have I mentioned school starts for Lj this week AND a full time job…poor guy will most likely be gone 13-14 hours a day! I really feel badly for Sara. She is really a “daddy’s girl”, especially since mom has been tied up with the baby. Poor Sara will really miss her “dabby”.
ANYWAY, we went to the Seattle Aquarium this past week and saw some awesome fish and had a great time. There are some pretty funny fish. I hope you enjoy these pictures.
