yeah! I am so glad these worked out! I can finally be happy with pictures that I took of your family. It is totally because you did all the leg work in finding the place and setting so wonderful job to you! You have a gift for finding great lighting. Someday I hope to learn your secrets. I am so glad that we had that picnic and afternoon together also. It was heavenly to see you and your beautiful family again.

Great job to Liz – those are great pictures. I love the one where Sara is leaned back into L’s lap and he’s petting her hair. So cute!

Hello!
I don’t think you’d remember me but I remember you from the U2 ward! And actually I think my husband knew your husband from their singles ward. So I found your blog through Liz’s (they were in our home ward for awhile) and wanted to say how lovely your photos are! Wow, so bright and colorful. I am wondering what camera you have? We have a Digital Rebel XT and am thinking we need to get more than the kit lens for it. I love photography but feel limited a little with our camera’s zoom. If you don’t mind taking a moment to let me know, I would appreciate it!

Thanks so much! What year were you in U2? It must have been around 2000? Anyway, I shoot with the XT also, but use a Tamron lens. Yep…ditch the kit lens. Aim for something that has a large aperature which will be faster and allow for more depth of field. Use a zoom length that you feel you need. Only you can answer what feels more natural to you. I bought the 50mm (“nifty 50″) but felt with the crop factor of the XT that it was too long for what I normally shoot. You can rent lenses online, or in Seattle from Glaziers. I’m sure there are other stores, but those are the two I’d recommend. That way you can try them out cheaply before you dump a bunch of money into something. I’d worry more about the lens then the camera. Hope that helps!
