Sara likes to
Last week, we watched Sydney while her mommy had a baby. These girls really like each other!

Sara had just pulled the soccer ball down from her face and said, “boo” from peek aboo
She started to sing this week and it’s so cute. She’ll sing along if you sing “My Bonny Lies Over The Ocean.” She particularly enjoys the “bring back, bring back” section where she says “back back back back” over and over, but in rhythm! And she’ll also sing to “Row, row, row you’re boat.” It’s just too cute.
I love old friends. Melissa and I got together. She was in Cali visiting family, ironically, we were able to meet up. Since our old stomping ground was UW, we hadn’t seen eachother for a while. Since UW we have lived far apart. The drive out to her family’s was GORGEOUS. Beautiful farm land and the Pacheco pass.

My girlfriend’s daughter: SO CUTE!

Sara is feeling much better I think (though seems to still tucker out quickly from being sick) AND it’s only been in the 60’s early in the morning. Feels just like Seattle. So, we headed to the park. She is getting much more adventurous and tries other things besides the swings now
It is strange however, to have your weather fluxuate 30 degrees in a day. I can’t complain with it topping out at 93 though. Comparied to 111. I’ll take 93!
Anyway, here is Sara having a good ol’ time…

Sara is saying, “bye” here…

Well, I couldn’t resist taking Sara’s picture before church today. Blue is a GREAT color for her, if I do say so myself! Sara did so well in nursery today. I think she really has got the hang of it. I can look in the peep whole in the door and she walks around like she owns the place! Well, not totally, but you can tell she knows what it’s all about and is comfortable there. Lj and I got called to teach the 11 yr old boys. They are good talkers, which surprised me. I have a feeling this calling will be a breeze!
We’ve been asked to talk in church in a couple of weeks. We’re still trying to find a reason to be gone on that day… any ideas?

Every night, Sara still asks to feed the ducks and I think tonight’s feeding was the coolest ever. The momma duck was there again, but this time she was out of the water and came up to us when she spotted us coming up the walkway. She was just 6-12 inches from Sara while Sara sat in her stroller, picking off pieces of bread and throwing them down on the ground. The duck even ate out of my hand and took a piece from my fingers. It was really fun.
Yep, Sara and I made cookies together for the first time. Though, I’m sure there will be more interactive cooking-making-sessions to come. It was more like me making the cookies and lifting Sara up so she could see the different stages of what you do, and then of course, the eating part.Â
After they were all done, we popped a squat on the kitchen floor, with two cups of milk (pointless, Sara only wanted my cup) and we ate delicious chocolate chip, oatmeal cookies.
This was also the first time sara has licked the spoon! I think the pictures speak for how well she liked the dough.

This is why we couldn’t see any fireworks…

By the time it was dark, the marine fog was sooooooooo thick.
We had a great time. We started in San Luis Obispo and hit the Mac Store and several others. Then we went to Pismo Beach and then up to Morro Bay. It was literally 50 degrees cooler on the beach. We brought warmer clothes, but we were all cold.

Grandpa and Grandma McKee were in town Tuesday and we were able to spend the day with them. I think Sara was especially excited! We went over to Woodward park for the 1st time. I think the park is something like 50 acres. I think the only thing I’d want to see in there that I haven’t now is the Japanese Gardens. The park was kind of blah, if you ask me. We saw horse riders, which brought me back about 12 years. Good times.

Sara likes to dip her food into water…so, why not a puddle?

And, back at the house…

Sara doesn’t look too amused, does she? But she does look like her daddy.
Â
sara was pretty ready to leave by the time I remembered to get the camera out at the pool. I have really had my hands busy with keeping up with her, so these aren’t great pictures. Bear with me.

And playing outside of the water is always more fun than playing IN the pool.
