What a great day! Yosemite was so beautiful. We woke up Sunday and just decided to go. I love being spontaneous!
The highlights were the large rock cliffs, the Ansil Adams Gallery, the 400mm Canon f/2.8 L that they had set up outside the Gallery (along with other equipment you could rent) so you could take a REALLY close look at the Yosemite Falls, and the falls. Sara was A TROOPER! She really did so well. We got there right as her naptime was aproaching and she didn’t take a nap for 5 hours later.Â
This is Sara in the drive there.

This was the first viewpoint that we reached just outside of Yosemite Valley.

Just don’t slide off the top of this cliff…nasty fall

Daddy and Sara (sara insists on taking off her shoes to get ANYTHING that might have entered, including dust
)

Momma getting it out

Isn’t this beautiful?

This is the tunnel that ends right at this lookout. I DARE you to try to hold your breath. Lj and I thought we could totally do it. Do you see the where the tunnel starts on the other side? Ya, let’s just say it’s a really long tunnel.

The village store had the crocs, and Sara was in HEAVEN! She took down so many to want to try on

On the way up to the falls, we stopped along the creek and we all threw some rocks. Opa would be proud

Sara decided pretty quick once we got into the zoo, that she wanted snacks. And I noticed signs that said no food in the zoo. SO, I asked Sara to sit down in her stroller to eat. This is what she did:

And when I asked her to sit in her stoller again, she scooted even further away from the stroller. But she did understand that I wanted her to sit down. So funny. She ended up just carrying her snacks and she never got back in her stroller.

Always put your best face forward, at least that’s what we should tell these guy

This guy was just chewing away and it looked so funny

This weekend was forecasted to be a bit cooler (below the 90’s) so I decided to go to the zoo with Sara early Saturday morning. Early as in 9:00 early. We just beat the crowd when we got there. I’ll explain as we go along here.
There is a baby monkey who was showing off. He’s pretty small but can move real fast along these ropes.

Just a pretty bird.Â

This arangatang was pretty darn cool. I couldn’t shoot him when he was swinging because I had my arms full with Sara, but he has the longest hair and he is SO BIG. It really looked cool when he did it, but here he is just sitting.

Â
Here we are on our way out the door again
Sara is looking so old! And looks just like her daddy, but beautiful.

Sara put on her shoes all by herself for the first time here :>

 Â
We have a linen closet upstairs where we keep paper towels supplied and Sara likes to get them out and stack them on top of each other
Here she is busy at play!

Well, these are the final shots from part 1 of this last shoot I did
Fun stuff. I can’t wait to shoot the whole family (next month) because they are a beautiful family. This is what we’ve got so far!

Today was so busy. I didn’t have time to take many pictures at all.Â
Sara drinking a bottle like a big girl was about as much as I could get.Â

So, I’d have to say, I think I cooked all day long. Starting with…
Breakfast:
German pancakes filled with fresh strawberries, a squeeze from a lemon, topped with syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar (the secret to these is really the blender (http://www.thekysers.com/index.php/2007/05/23/dutch-babies/). I blended them for a good couple of minutes. And the sides really rose so high.
Scrambled eggs with avocado
Hashbrowns
Sausage from Trader Joe’s
Orange juice
Dinner was on the lighter side, and if you like fresh ingredients, and a really fresh meal then this could be a meal you’d like:
Lemon Chicken with Avocado Salsa (June issue of Martha Stewart Magazine pg. 172) It was amazing.
And to top it off with dessert, Raspberry Lime Breeze. (pg. 167) I will link to those last two recipies when they become available on Martha’s website. The smoothie was AMAZING. It was tart and sweet. Really delicious. And the chicken was the perfect top to the day (we had a heavy dinner last night and another heavy meal for breakfast. Something lite was in order). I’m sure you could prepare the salsa the day before (which takes a bit of preparation) leaving the avocado to add in at the last minute, and it would save you a lot of time the day of serving.
Sara was really cute today. You could just tell by her happy attitude all day that she was happy to be together as a family. She always plays so nicely when we’re all together on Sunday. She lastest the whole time in nursery at church today!!! It was great to see how much she enjoyed it. And when I went in to get her of course she had to walk me around and show me all that she had done in nursery that day. She also tried a 100 Grand candybar today for the first time (it was a total hit) and the fiz from the top of a rootbear float (what the ward distributed to all of the fathers in the ward). She didn’t really go for the fiz, but the chocolate was a hit!Â

Sara is always ready to go before I am. At least she’s cute on the way out the door! More than I can say for myself.

It’s starting to get hotter here. It reached the 100’s today and cooled off to 90’s. I have a feeling we’ll be having high energy bills this summer running air conditioning.
