Sunday is always our best day of the week because we get to see Lj all day. Everyone is happy
Sara’s smile speaks for itself.

(Sara still loves her barnyard magnet toy)
Well, our new friends, Sydney and her mom, Misty and Sara and I went to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. If you ask me, it is the PERFECT zoo for a kid. Not too big, but it has all the animals they’d want to see, and they’re really close.Â
Sara and Sydney

The best part was that the animals were really quite close. What I don’t have pictures of are the flamingos, really pretty birds, monkeys, and petting zoo animals. Here’s just a taste. I had my hands/arms full with Sara, so I couldn’t take creative liberties/time. Had to shoot and go.
The Giraffes were my favorite I think. You can feed them (they really have the grossed looking tongue ever. It’s hard and long, and looks like…I don’t know the right word. It’s just very odd looking). But you can feed them and they are really close. It’s the closest I’ve ever been to one.

Sara really liked the zoo this time. We’re reading Noha’s Ark to her everynight, so I know she recognized all of the animals from their pictures going into the ark, including the elephants, giraffes, turtles…

Zebras…

When you have an itch, just scratch it.Â

Sara wasn’t as into the seals as much as she wanted to jump into their water…

Now, seriously, the best part of all. The zoo had a petting zoo with mainly llamas and goats. I was so impressed with Sara. She won’t barely pet a dog, but she’ll go up to a llama???
(our friends Misty and Sydney)

After this picture, I took her up to it and she totally liked it. She touched its ears, pet its body. She was more forward with the llama, then the goats. But all in all, she acted like she was well in her element in that little petting zoo.
Â
Just a side note, but I don’t understand what this creature (Tapir) has to do with the Creation. Or why it couldn’t look better…I am grateful it helps with the ant population, but couldn’t it have been created to be better looking?

So, after Sara was making all of those faces, she saw I was done with my bowl of pasta and fork, and took them, and you’ll see what she did with them.Â

Look Ma, no hands!

“Computer Screen? Would you like my dinner?” -SaraÂ

We were listening to Sesame Street on the computer, so that’s what she’s looking at (above).
Sara was making the FUNNIEST faces during dinner last night. I just couldn’t help but grab the camera. She’s never really done so many in a row before.

Who knew drinking from a grown-up glass could be so exciting? Warning, no manners are practiced here…

Did I mention, I do think it’s disgusting? Can you see how murky that water is? Nasty.

Â
Mother’s day was so perfect. I got to spend the whole day together as a family. Sara loved it too, she was happy ALL day, which considering our track record, is pretty darn good. What I really wanted for Mother’s Day was to do things together that Sara and I did during the week. We started the day off at the park nearby. It was a GORGEOUS day. I don’t think it got hotter than the 80′s all day.
More of Sara’s favorite. Swingy swingy, as Opa would say.

Lj also got to practice some soccer. Well, he got to kick a ball around.

After this, we tried to visit Yosemite National Park which we’ve been told is about an hour to the south entrance, but then (I can’t remember exactly) either 1 or 2 hours in. We thought Sara would sleep during the drive, but she didn’t, so we got about 45 minutes north and decided to turn around. It was a nice drive though, and we got to see a rattlesnake, coiled up and mad in the middle of the road. I think the poor thing got ran over though.Â
Lj, you’re the best. Thanks for making me so happy!
Her smile speaks for itself. Can you tell how happy we are that daddy is home (early) for Mother’s Day weekend?

Sara and I spent the afternoon at the park today. It was perfect outside. Hot but definitely enjoyable. Sara LOVES the swings. She spent most of the time in them, as usual.Â

What I don’t have captured is our perfect trip to Jamba Juice, after the park. She was all worn out from playing, so she sat so nicely on my lap while we leaned back with our feet propped up on a chair, Sara had her feet crossed as she does when she is happy and content, sipping our Jamba Juice. Carribean Passion. Two straws (though, mine was always more appealing to Sara, no matter which of the two was mine)
Â
Â
Sara’s new favorite food is a pineapple fruit cup. She really likes the mandarine oranges too, which she’s eating here.

She’s a gardener in the making. Her grandmothers would be proud

Or is this where she got her rash???
